Construction of the new track facility began on June 25, 2012. The new track and field facility opened for use in March of 2013.
Saturday, November 19, 2011. Littleton voters approved a debt exclusion override to fund the track reconstruction at the Special Town Election. The vote was 472 "yes" to 299 "no" (with one blank ballot) — a 60% approval. This is the last step in the funding process!
Monday, November 14, 2011. A two-third's majority vote to pass the $735,000 borrowing authorization to reconstruct the track facility (Article 3) was achieved at Town Meeting. Article 3 passed by a 175 "yes" to 62 "no" vote — a 74% approval.

The PMBC, School Committee, Gale Associates, and the LTO have worked during the past year on the plans to reconstruct the track and field facility. The construction documents are almost finalized, and these documents are available at the Reuben Hoar Library (May 30, 2011).
Article 9 was approved on a voice vote at the May 3, 2010 Annual Town Meeting.
The Board of Selectmen voted to insert onto the warrant for the May 3, 2010 Annual Town Meeting an article to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds up to $35,000 to continue the design and development of a track and/or multi-purpose field facility.

Based upon feedback and comments from the LTO, Gale Associates issued a revised report of the Track Feasibility Study to the PMBC.

The results of the feasibility study were presented by the PMBC and Gale Associates at a public meeting, Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 7pm, in the Community Room at the Littleton Police Headquarters, 500 Great Road.
Gale Associates submitted the Track Feasibility Study to the PMBC.

June 17, 2009. The Town of Littleton, through its Permanent Municipal Building Committee (PMBC), invites proposals from qualified firms for design and engineering services associated with the feasibility study for, and preliminary planning of, a new high school track and field facility.
Proposals are to be delivered in person or by mail to the PMBC Office at the Littleton Electric Light and Water Departments at the above address. All proposals must be received by 2:00 p.m. on July 2, 2009 to be considered. Proposals delivered by fax or by electronic mail will not be considered.
Article 11 was approved by a voice vote at Town Meeting on May 5, 2009.
The LTO has collected over 200 signatures in support of the following Article for the May 4th Annual Town Meeting. The Article would provide funds to the town's Permanent Municiple Building Committee for a feasibility study for a track and field facility. This feasibility study would provide crucial information on plans and costs that the town needs in order to make decisions to address this issue.

To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, transfer from available funds, and/or borrow the sum of $20,000 to be expended by the Permanent Municipal Building Committee, as directed by the Town Meeting, for the purpose of funding a feasibility study for a track and field facility, or to take any other action in relation thereto.
The Board of Selectmen, the Finance Committee, the School Committee, and the Park & Recreation Commission have each voted unanimously to support Article 11 and the track feasibility study.
The feasibility study generated important information and data, produced schematic designs and provided cost estimates.
